I haven't posted in quite awhile. My life is in complete turmoil right now, and so that I don't make my blog nothing but negativity, I have decided not to post. I have some wonderful things to post, and will shortly. Thank you for all the comments that have been emailed. I appreciate your thoughts.

I have been pretty much out of it the last few months. Hopefully coming up soon, things will straighten out...and everything will go back to normal.

Audrey was given her stocking last week...and Kelley loved it! Yeah!

I have been busy making hundreds of cookies for my Christmas Eve Party, and today will be no exceptions.

I am extremely behind on the holiday knitting though, so I have no idea what I am going to do about that...time will tell, I suppose. I then have to finish my shopping too...yikes...a week away...bring on my nervous breakdown.

My tree looks so pretty this year, I think. I have tried to take a picture at night, and it doesn't show off the tree as much as it did this morning...so here it is. What do you think?

Newest Items...KAL progress and Holiday Baking Officially Begins!

The KAL is going great...after 35ish rows, I finally figured it out. hehehe, I love these things. The pictures are not good, no matter how hard I try...I cannot get the pattern to come out. You can barely see it. When you click on the picture, you can see it a little more.

Well, to me, the Holiday isn't complete without making and baking lots of goodies for gifts for people I love. Today I started making some (I need to mail quite a few...so, they have to be started early). These little guys are soooo simple, and cute if I must say so myslef. 3 Large marshmellows put onto a stick...dipped in white chocolate and decorated, snowman like.

Made myself a set of the wrist warmers I have been making. I made mine a little longer and also added more rows to the thumb...and did a normal bind off, not the picot bind off.

I made another pair of mitts from Knitty. I just love them. I am going to make a pair with my cashmere now for a gift for my mother...I am pretty sure I can do it now without being scared to death to ruin my $64 dollar a skein yarn....YIKES! WIsh me luck.

I just finished the Mid Month KAL. I love the pattern, but it was just a little to large and long for a washcloth to me...so, I changed it into a finger tip towel. Isn't it cute? Is it perfect? Nope...but I love it.

Cannot wait until the next one. :)

I have had many people ask me how I did the towel portion of the dishcloth...so, I will explain. PLEASE keep in mind I am not a designer...in fact, this is the first thing I ever attempted to change. I had no idea how to decrease in seed stitch without making all the stitches all goofy, so I made the decrease stitches stand out, so the difference in pattern would appear 'intentional'. So, here it is:

Towel option….

K2tog tbl = Knit 2 stitches together through back loop.

Seed 17, k2tog tbl, k18

Seed 10, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 9, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 8, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 7, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 6, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 5, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 4, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 3, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

Seed 2, k2tog tbl, repeat to end

9 stitches remain

Seed for approx. 4 inches

k2 tog, seed stitch to the last 2, k2tog

next row – seed stitch

bind off.

Leave last loop on needles, with crochet hook, chain 10, fasten to other side, as button loop.

Well...after a very unhappy start on Saturday...when I ripped EVERY STITCH out...I finished the Garterlac Dishcloth. http://criminyjickets.blogspot.com/2006/07/garterlac-dishcloth.html

I had decided not to try again, but saw a post from one of my groups and someone else was having a similar problem as I was...so I piggy backed on her question (shameless I know) and Mary sent me some wonderful pictures with EXACT directions on where to pick up the stitches. We decided last night to do it together! After many times of telling myself "why am I going through all of this insanity for a dishcloth' I finished, and I am hooked on the pattern.

Is my little square dishcloth perfect? Nope..but the next one will be better! Hmmm...the color possibilities. :)

What is a better reason to knit than for a brand new baby? None that I can think of. I saw Sean for the first time yesterday and gave his mom his sweater and hat set. :) It looked so tiny when I was making it, but it is really big on the little guy. Nikki (Seans' mom) said the sweater is perfect if we roll up the sleeves, big, but not too big. The hat goes down to his chin...ooops. Ah well...he will grow into it.

As you know, my new nephew Sean Patrick arrived on the 31st of October. Today my husband, Bill, and I went to see him.

He is such an adorable little guy, isn't he...too cute for words.

I am so glad that he is so darn cute...he even cheered up Bill after the HORRIBLE loss the Bears took today? What the hell type of game were they playing? Miami won like 1 game before they knocked the shit out of the Bears today...sad sad sad day for them today. :(

My Bag Arrived today!!!

I am so so excited...I am involved with the "International Tote Exchange II" and my bag arrived today from Vicki!!!! I am so spoiled...she really out did herself!

The bag is just beautiful...beautiful colors that was knitted and felted with a green handle. HUGE and so nice.

Included in the box was 2 balls of Lopi yarn, 3 stitch holders, size small, medium, and large. A package of knitting themed note cards, a knitting pattern marker, a pom pom maker and a beautiful note from her.

My dogs even loved it...my 2 chi's just love things that are warm and comfy and fuzzy...this definately fits the bill...as you can see, they took to it right away while I was trying to take the pictures of it. Needless to say, they cannot have my beautiful bag...my knitting is already in it.

The KAL Begins! Part 1!!

I belong to the group 'Monthly Dishcloths' (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MonthlyDishcloths/) , and the are 2 KAL each month. This is my first month in the group, and today is the first day of the KAL. Every few days or so, another part of the pattern is revealed and you knit that number of rows...not knowing what the finished dishcloth will look like.

Well...today was part 1: 9 rows

It is 8:30 a.m. and I am done with the first part...is the 2nd part ready yet? This is so much fun.

Hmmmm.....I wonder what it is going to be....

Debbie Bliss Denim Sweater

I am finally getting to post some pictures for the denim jacket I made from the Debbie Bliss Book Junior knits.

I made this for my friend Kelleys' new baby Audrey. Audrey was born in July, and I gave it to her at her baby shower. She loved it. Of course...little Audrey is still very tiny, and the jacket is a size 2...but, she will eventually fit into it, right? :)

Making cookies with my nephew!!!!! I just love the traditions of Christmas time. I love making cookies with my nephews. I made some with my nephew Jason last weekend, and today with my nephew Mikey. Mikey is 3, and he really enjoyed the speinkles and the colored sugar. These are the fanciest chocolate M&M cookies I have ever made. We had tons of fun, and we no longer have any sprinkles left.

This is a gift for one of my friends. It is just beautiful, I finished it late last night.

These Pictures just don't do this circular scarf justice. It turned out so beautiful. It is made with Copper Disco yarn, and was stitched on size 15 needles in the round. I just love it.

This is a loom hat I made for my friend Michelle's husband Mark. He is a Green Bay Packers fan.

It should be noted that I risked my life making this hat since my husband Bill is a total Chicago Bears fan...and to have green and yellow in the same house is a huge sin!

A christmas gift done! my sister-in-law requested a long pair of mittens.

I used Patons Divine in Rose Chantilly.

I brushed the inside of the mittens to make them fluffy and warmer. They go up to my elbow, and I want a pair for myself now.

Look at the new member of our family! I just ordered him on www.wizardofclaws.com, an early Christmas gift from my good friend Lei and my husband Billy! He is going to arrive on Tuesday night! I cannot wait. Haven't thought of a name yet, he is a tiny little guy 2 1/2 pounds right now...but he is a little chunkster, and loves to eat. :) I will post pics on Tuesday night when he arrives...I just can't wait. Thank you to Lei and Billy for my wonderful Christmas gift of a new fur baby!

8 Christmas Gifts Done! Yippee!
I finished 8 handmade/hand painted velvet little 6 x 6 inch purses for the girls I work with. It is hard to tell by the photo, but their faces are all glittery and there are crystals in their eyes. And their hats are made with lace and real fur.

Just in time for the movie. PHEW! I finally got my Harry Potter scarf done! WOW is that a lot of stockenette stitch! I prayed for a knitting machine about half way through...but in the end it was worth it, I just love it...I used the pattern from...http://knit.atypically.net/scarves/azkaban/pattern.shtml. I used Brown Sheep Nature Spun Worsted (100% wool) yarn in Gryffindor Colors :brick road (#225) and sunburst gold (#308).

I can't wait until Friday for the movie to come out!

Another Gift done! Ok, this one is for Emma, a daughter of my friend Michelle. I love how this turned out!

I used cascade 220 in black and I added Pallete by Knit Picks in Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Black. I carried the cascade throughout the entire poncho, and kept changing the knit picks colors. I did a picot edging on the "collar" and I think it turned out super cute. I am hoping to get another mini one done for her for her American Girl doll for Christmas.

Earlier in my blog I showed a rainbow snake scarf...this is Emma's brother Blair's gift...so they are both rainbow colored this Christmas!

I finished my mittens! Yeah! These are for my sister in law, Nikki for a Christmas gift . I hope she likes them!

I used Smitten by Mission falls. This is the Dizzy Pattern. I made the front and the back differnent (top stitching) so they can be reversable if she wants.

I used size 5 and 6 needles.

The yarn used: Cascade Pastaza (50% llama, 50% wool) in 085 color (blue) and Cascade 220 in 9461 (green) and cascade 220 (rust).

I loved making these...they are so fun and simple.

I just got back from the doctors office...and got a cast on my leg/ankle. WOW does it hurt...but I guess things could be worse...it could always be worse. I am just sad.

I am not going to be able to drive for at leaset 3 weeks...UGH!!!!!!!!!! When the time comes, I go to the doctor again and hopefully be able to drive then.

Oh well, just had to vent a little...poor me again! :( ugh!

Ever have one of those days when EVERYTHING goes wrong??? Well, I am currently having one of those days!

I am making some knitted projects for my new occupation - a knit designer for LePrissy Pets ( http://www.leprissypetsjewelry.com/ )! YEAH! A dream job. Anyway, I am making these items(its a surprise...) and something happened to them, so I had to throw almost 20 of them away! UGH! After crying for about an hour, and locking myself in my bedroom so I wouldn't throw myself off the balcony I decided to knit a basic knitted hat.

Sounds simple right? Of course it can't be simple it is a HORRIBLE EVERYTHING goes WRONG day! I was knitting...had 46 out of 65 rows done...beautiful...then, the doorbell rang. I got up to answer the door, getting the thread caught on my shoes somehow (without knowing it) and ran down the stairs. Got the letter, ran back upstairs to see my knitting, my cats and about 4 rows left on my needles! UUUUUUGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH! How could I not feel thread following me down the stairs?!?!?!?

I burned myself with the iron, blocking something, got a paper cut...boy oh boy what a day! Poor me! :(

Well, I thought I would make something for myself that if I screwed up it wouldn't be a earth shattering event...so, I decided on arm warmers...it is chilly here today and damp...so, what the heck...I will give it a try. And...guess what?????

THEY WORKED OUT!!! I love them!! My curse day is over I hope!!! Pictured above!

Well...off to work on my second miten...from the Mission Falls pattern book Smitten. I am do Dizzy right now....for a gift for my sister-in-law (so...if I mess up no loss, right?) hehehe...just kidding (?).

My first COMPLETED SWEATER...well, kinda!!

I completed another Christmas gift...this one for my puppy Bob (the model above...shhh, he doesn't know it is his).

I used the pattern from: http://www.redlipstick.net/knit/chihswe.html I did stockenette stitch instead of garter stitch, and I knit the first 4 and last 4 of every row to avoid the curling. I did everything else as the pattern stated, but I picked up 18 stitches on each of the legs to make sleeves. I stitched 4 rows (almost an inch) for sleeves.

It turned out so cute, I think...my puppies first turtleneck sweater.

The yarn is red heart.

Snake Scarf for Blair!

Finished the snake scarf for my friend's son Blair!

I used the pattern from www.scknitting.com/spring2005/slithering.html

I changed a few things, I used a dark color varigated yarn so I didn't use the fair isle pattern throughout. I also added 3-D eyes (for teddy bears) instead of using black thread. I also put a 'rattler' in the tail. It is so darn cute.

size 8 and size 10 dpn were used.

Red Heart E300 - Mexicana and Black were used.
